Use the
CALCULATOR to determine an estimated parts list and quantity for your specific Signage
project.
The
CALCULATOR determines the number of products required for your project. To begin
estimating, simply choose from the menu above the type of LED product you want to perform the calculation. In this case, the
CALCULATOR page opens in a new browser window or in a new Tab.
The picture to the right is a three dimensional Signage letter. The LED modules are placed inside the Signage letter. A description of measuring the Channel Length (Lc), Channel Width (Wc),Channel Depth (Dc) are shown. If you need more information, click on the picture to obtain how to measure the dimensions.
In the yellow input fields of the
CALCULATOR’S page. Do the following:
- Type in the Channel Letter.
- Type in its corresponding Channel Length (Lc).
- Type in its corresponding Channel Width (Wc).
- Type in its corresponding Channel Depth.
- Repeat the process for each additional Signage Letter.
- Once you input all you data, Click on the 'Calculate BOM' button for the results.
If you have fewer than 12 Signage letters, disregard the additional inputs. If you have more than 12 Signage letters add the results by running the
CALCULATOR’S twice. Whenever you see a

you can click this symbol for additional information.
There are 3 different types of LED modules used for Signage Letters which are: HF2 Chain, BACKlight 2G BL02, and BACKlight 2G BL04.
From the menu above, choose the product, (for now you have a choice of two products: HF2 Chain or B2G_BLO2 Super Red), that you like to perform the Calculation. Depending on what type/version of browser and what browser settings you have, the Calculator opens either in a new window or in a new Tab.
OSRAM SYLVANIA’S HF2 Chain LED modules powered by OPTOTRONIC® power supplies, offer an alternative
to neon and fluorescent light sources.
The HF2 Chain module consists of 18 metal core circuit boards each containing 2 Hi-Flux LEDs separated by flexible jumper wires. The HF2 Chain was
specifically designed for the sign industry for long life and reduced maintenance operation.

OSRAM SYLVANIA’S BACKlight 2G (B2G) modules powered by OPTOTRONIC® LED power supplies, form a system designed for backlighting
channel letters and both are listed in the UL Sign Accessories Manual (SAM).
B2G is available on reels that contain 2 modules in a chain-like structure. Each module has 60
circuit boards containing 2 LEDs connected by flexible jumper wires for a total
of 120 LEDs. The B2G modules are a safer and longer life alternative to traditional neon
lighting. In comparison to neon, the B2G system provides excellent color and
brightness and can be easily installed into channel letters for extremely low
maintenance operation.

OSRAM SYLVANIA’S BACKlight 2G BL04 modules powered by OPTOTRONIC® LED power supplies form a system designed for
backlighting channel letters and both are listed in the UL Sign Accessories Manual (SAM).
BL04 is available on reels that contain 2 modules in a chain-like structure. Each module has 30 circuit boards containing 4 LEDs connected by flexible jumper wires for a total of 120 LEDs.
